Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, was already seeing heavy rain from Hurricane Jova on Monday. The resort is likely to be spared the worst of the storm, which is expected to make landfall farther south.Hurricane Jova strengthened to a major, Category 3 hurricane as it marched toward Mexico's Pacific coast, threatening a beach resort and one of the nation's biggest cargo ports.

Many of Egypt's Coptic Christians fear that the power vacuum left after the overthrow of Hosni Mubarak is giving Muslim extremists free rein to torch churches and attack Coptic homes.
