Ex-Eagle Turner part of lawsuit against NFL involving some 2,000 former players
Jun 7th 2012, 22:55

FORMER EAGLES fullback Kevin Turner said he joined a lawsuit filed Thursday in federal district court here by former National Football League players and their families against the NFL because he wants to make sure former, current and future players receive adequate medical testing and monitoring of football-related head injuries before they become life-threatening. Turner, 43, who lives in Birmingham, Ala., has been diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, or ALS. He believes it may have something to do with all the hits he made and took during his eight seasons in the NFL, the last five of which were spent with the Eagles. He retired from the NFL in 1999.

Nate Silver: Obama odds of winning are 'just over 60 percent'
Jun 7th 2012, 18:52

Nate Silver has released his first election forecast:

Mr. Obama remains slightly ahead of Mr. Romney in most national polls, and he has had a somewhat clearer advantage in polling conducted at the state level. Mr. Obama would be about 80 percent likely to win an election held today, according to the model.

The forecast currently calls for Mr. Obama to win roughly 290 electoral votes, but outcomes ranging everywhere from about 160 to 390 electoral votes are plausible, given the long lead time until the election and the amount of news that could occur between now and then.
