Nokia will market phones next week using Windows’ new mobile operating system. This will help build up Windows’ phone software business. The devices of Nokia were a huge development for Microsoft in its struggle to grab a piece of the market for mobile operating systems. The market is dominated by Apple, Google and BlackBerry.
There are reports of Google being very nervous at Microsoft’s entry into the market even though Windows Phone has a long way to cover before Google’s more established units. Samsung has also announced that it will cooperate with Microsoft in the development and marketing of the Windows Phone.
The Windows Phone will be introduced at the Nokia World Event next week. Nokia is going to announce its rollout plans with the Windows Phone. The phones that will be introduced are the 7.5 `Mango’ based handsets at the Nokia World Event. Nokia has also indicated that it will have differentiating hardware and software and will provide something more than just a Windows Phone handset like the other makers.
This phone will be with a curved 3.7 inch AMOLED multi-touch display with no hardware buttons on the front. It will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD 8250. It has up to 1 GHz Scorpion ARM Cortex A8 Core, Adreno 200 graphics processing unit, 720 pixels video, up to 12 mega pixels camera with an integrated 3G, GSM, GPRS, EDGE and HSPA support. Nokia is planning about a dozen Windows Phone 7 handsets in the coming year.
