How To Customize The Background Dimension Of Twitter

The standard web interface of Twitter has a different appearance from the several mobile applications that are available for this social networking service. The user can now customize few elements of the profile pages by selecting a full size background.
Almost a dozen basic backgrounds are available on the site but users will be able to upload their own backgrounds that they can select from either pre-designed ones or from other sources like photos or from personal images. Custom backgrounds come automatically tiled. You will need to select the correct dimensions to fill the screen concerning your image.

Once you select the image you want to use for your Twitter background, create a square of a tiled image with an online resource such as Stripe Generator or ColourLovers. Save the image to your computer. Avoid those images that may be excessively large, over 500 KB as such images will slow down the loading time for the visitors to your Twitter page.

You have to decide whether you want the image to tile on the screen or to fill the page. The image will remain steady on the page as the content is scrolling. You can customize the dimensions to a small size if you want the image to be tiled. You can customize the dimensions to accommodate the monitor if you want the image to fill the screen.

You can now open the page in an image editing program such as Preview or Microsoft Paint. Click the image menu and select `Image Size’. Adjust the dimensions of your background with the resize tool. For filling the screen, you should set at 1280 x 1024 pixels. Click the `Design Tab’ after you login to your Twitter Account and click `Change Background Image’. Upload your image file here. This image will be the new layout with your customized background.
