Former Pennsylvania Sen. Arlen Specter, who now writes books and jokes for stand-up comedy, lived up to his old ‘Snarlin’ Arlen’ reputation by comparing GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney to a “pornographic movie queen” on Wednesday
On MSNBC’s "Morning Joe" co-host Mika Brzezinski asked Specter what he thought about the Republican Party’s future and got a dose of the snarky former politician, who served in the Senate for 30 years.
"The Republican Party has moved so far to the right you can’t recognize Mitt Romney,” Specter said, adding “Bill [Maher] had it exactly right; he said that Mitt Romney has changed positions more often than a pornographic movie queen.”
Specter joined the Morning Joe crew to discuss his new book, "Life Among the Cannibals," and recent criticisms against him by Rick Santorum, one of Romney’s challengers for the Republican nomination for president. During his retirement, Specter has tried his hand in comedy.
