Revolutions are hard, dangerous and violent. What the country needs is a clear plan for the future, writes Simon Allison
Its easy to get caught up in the excitement and the romance of Burkina Fasos popular revolution. But revolutions solve nothing on their own, its what comes next that really counts. Unfortunately, Africas recent track record in this department is poor. The odds of a success story, at least in the short term, are not in Burkina Fasos favour.
It didnt take long for the noble ideals of Burkina Fasos people-powered revolution to succumb to the harsh, nasty realities of the world in which we live.
