All Nippon Airways Boeing 787’s inaugural flight landed in Hong Kong yesterday. This is the ANA Flight 7871 which was an eagerly awaited and much anticipated event. It carried its first passengers from Tokyo to Hong Kong on a four hours and eight minutes flight that was cheered amid creation of aviation history.
This new long haul jet looks to change with the way passengers think about flying with larger windows, improved lighting with humidity and air pressure resembling that which we find on the ground.

It is not the fastest jet or the largest plane but it is called the `Dreamliner’ by the Boeing Corporation. The plane is built of lightweight material which can improve fuel efficiency.

The inaugural flight from Tokyo to Hong Kong was packed with two hundred and forty aviation reporters and enthusiasts paying thousands of dollars for the privilege. The most striking feature of the plane is its windows that are thirty per cent larger than the old jets. Passengers now do not have to hunch forward to see the runway or what is below. The people sitting in the middle section of the plane can even glance partially out of the windows. The shades have been replaced with an electrical dimming and glare reducing system that adds a tint to the windows in less than half a minute.

Once inside, the passengers were treated to a rainbow colored light show that changed the calm white interior of the plane into something resembling a Las Vegas strip. The plane costs one hundred and ninety four million dollars.
